Bicycling and Barbeque

Description: Bicycling and Barbeque is a non-competitive cycling event held on the roads in and around Galax, Virginia. Last year\'s participants ranged in age from 12 to 80 all of whom completed the ride successfully. We ride on paved roads in and around Galax. This year cyclists will visit the outlying communities of Carsonville, Peach Bottom, Independence, Pine Mountain, Delhart, Savanah, and Fairview. Beginning cyclists will enjoy the Delhart valley/Fairview loop while experienced cyclists looking for a challenging ride will \"enjoy\" combining both loops into a wonderfully challenging 64 mile ride. Morrow Mountain

Description: Beautiful country scenery, minimal traffic, great road conditions and plenty of hills…mostly rollers with challenges all along the way. The vertical climb is approx. 4400 ft. over the 62 mile route and slightly more if you ride the entire mountain. There is also an optional 9.8 mile loop at the end of the ride for those seeking a few last minute miles. The route is marked. Route sheets will be available at the start.

Roan Moan

Description: All rides are strenuous with unparalleled beauty. The century begins at 7:00 am. The \"quarter\" century & \"metric\" century begin at 9:00 am. The longer rides converge after 54 miles on the century and after 23 miles on the metric giving riders of both rides an opportunity to ride together. There is approximately 8000 feet of climbing on the century and 6000 on the metric.
