2008 Tarheel Ride Series

The 2008 Tarheel Ride Series is a series is open to all area cyclists. Members please join us and bring a guest.

This year we are offering the series consisting of different routes through out the season.  These are non-supported, no charge, show and go rides designed to offer a sampling of some of the best routes around Charlotte.

Directions to starting point in Fancy Gap: Take I-77 north across the VA state line. Continue to Exit 8, at the bottom of the ramp turn right onto Rt 148. Continue to US 52, turn right. Continue to Fancy Gap, about a mile. There is a group of stores and a gas station at the top of the hill on the right. Park in the gravel parking lot to the right of the stores. The ride leaves about 10:00am

Assault on Morrow Mountain

This is a ride through rural Stanly County with some very beautiful scenery and hilly terrain. Morrow Mountain is a significant climb and that part of the ride is optional.

55 miles, no drop with sag and a few hills. As usual, drinks, snacks and towels will be provided after the ride.

RULES TO RIDE BY
1. Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early and be ready to leave on time.
2. Make sure your bike is in proper working order.
3. Carry a spare tube, patch kit, pump & water bottle.
4. Practice safety and obey all traffic laws.
5. Wear an approved helmet.
6. Ride leaders are not responsible for riders ahead of the group.
